Today should be Jason’s 28th Birthday, but instead he never made it past age 24.
The boys and I did what we always do, we sent some balloons up, we had cake and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Daddy at the bench. The wind blew out the candles because “Daddy is in the wind now” (Toby).
This year felt the right time to scatter the ashes too.
After three years in my wardrobe, I felt it was time to return Jason to the earth.
The boys, however, felt it was time to throw the ashes of their dead Father about in the woods and play in it, but more about that some other time.
Happy Birthday, Jason!
