What. A. Day.
My whirlwind trip to London has been an amazing and completely surreal experience!
Not only did I get quality time with my friends, I also got to meet new people and help highlight the unfairness in the cuts to bereavement support. I got my make up done too which, let’s be honest, is the most fun thing.
I was totally out of my comfort zone being on live TV but not only did I have a fabulous chaperone to ease my worries beforehand, I was also very well looked after by the staff and crew.
I would like to thank the BBC and the Victoria Derbyshire show for allowing me this opportunity. I hope that sharing my experience will enable families bereaved in the future to benefit from amended support systems.
This is the link to the show in iPlayer for anyone who would like to watch. The piece about cuts to bereavement benefits followed by my interview starts 1 hour 11 minutes into it.
